Rally for Charon: He Gives, Not Asks
Donation protected
My name is Heather Odenthal. I am helping raise funds for my dear friend Charon during these hard times.
All funds will go directly to Charon. Charon is not the kind of man to ask for help; he's the kind of man to give help, which is why we are doing this for him.
On January 13th, while at work, Charon was called to tow a vehicle out of the ditch. When suddenly a speeding car lost control and hit the tow truck, crushing Charon between the vehicles. Behind the wheel of this speeding vehicle, at 10am on a Monday morning was a drunk driver.
Due to this drunk drivers selfish actions, Charon's life will forever be changed. His injuries are very serious, and almost cost Charon his life due to blood loss. Both legs were severely crushed at the knees. He has already had several surgeries, and will need several more to avoid amputation. Charon will also need extensive rehab in the hopes of regain his ability to walk again someday. These injuries' are truly going to be life changing, and Charon has a long road to recovery ahead.
Who is Charon? Charon a loving father a friend to all. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Charon is the man that will greet you will a joke, a smile and the biggest bear hug you'll ever have! He knows everyone's name and takes the time to get to know (literally) everyone. Charon is the friend that will help you move in a snow storm or scorching heat, give you the actual shirt off his back (he has given me his sweater when I was cold), his last dollar, and buy a stranger a meal. Charon is a genuine good person who wants to make people happy and cares about them. He has always put others first and helped whenever he could. Now its our turn to help him ( if you can).
Charon would never ask for help, so I will ask for him. This accident will dramatically change Charon's life. While we are all so grateful that we still have him here, we also accept the reality that this new life will come with some major challenges. These challenges will included finically difficulties as Charon has lost his lively hood, and future ability to return to work is unknown.
Anything you are able to give will be greatly appreciated and will help Charon with cost of living/bills, medical cost that may not be covered, adaptive equipment, travel cost, and moving cost to a handicap acceptable housing.
Thank you for you continued support, love, visits, gifts, love and encouragement. It means the world to Charon and his loved ones.
