Aiding My Mom's Fight Against Alzheimer's

This is my mom, Maureen Lipschultz. Once, a vibrant, energetic and hardworking wife, grandmother, sister and of course mom. She is currently suffering from the relentless disease of Alzheimer’s. This cruel and ruthless disease has stripped her of everything that she used to be and now she requires 24/7 specialty care in order to live comfortably. She is currently non-verbal, unable to communicate, wheelchair and bedbound.

Her husband Lowell has dedicated his entire life to caring for my mom. Unfortunately, between state and federal levels the system is failing her. The medical finances are currently enormous and too much to bear at this point. The family has exhausted every resource at our disposal, and it is still not enough for my mom. Lowell and my mom have been through some awful times experiencing the loss of his son to ALS a couple of years ago, my younger brothers tragic passing a few years ago and now he’s watching his wife suffer from this unforgiving and devastating disease.

He is 78 years old himself and still works to care for my mom, which I find very commendable, but not sustainable. He is working tirelessly day and night to keep up with the “regular” bills and then struggling to pay for outstanding bills to rehabilitation centers, hospitals, doctors, ambulance services, physical therapy, and home care. These services are not cheap and are huge burdens for one person to take care of. We as a family kindly ask for your consideration and any generosity that you may be able to afford to help with the financial struggles that we are currently in.
