Aikido Yuishinkai International Dojo
Hello fellow Aikidoka.
We are setting up a fund raising page to build a dojo in Tasmania that will become the international dojo for Aikido Yuishinkai in the world.
I have had discussion with Maruyama Sensei regarding this, and he has approved for me to establish this dojo.
The plan is to purchase a small parcel of land and to build a dojo on this land. I will set this dojo up very similar to what the founder of Aikido had in Iwama, where we will train and farm vegetables. Funds permitting the land will have a cottage where the caretaker of the dojo would be living and see to day to day running of the property.
This is a long term project, that I want to set up for posterity, not to be owned by any individual, but to be held in trust for future generations.
This would be a place where people would be welcome to come and stay and train for extended periods to experience Aikido in a beautiful natural environment.
The plan at the moment is to just get the land and build.
In the future, and funds permitting we will establish sleeping dorms and a mess hall.
Further into the future we have the prospect of lobbying the Tasmania government to become a registered training authority. This would enable us to sponsor overseas visitors to stay for extended periods on student visas.
Aikido has given me so much in my life.
I am far from wealthy enough to establish this dream on my own. I am hoping that there are those within our world community that have enriched their lives enough to be willing to contribute financially to help me realise this great undertaking for now and future generations to enjoy the art that we have all come to love.
I hope you can all get behind me and support this important project for the future of Yuishinkai aikido and the future dissemination of the teachings of Maruyama Sensei.
Kind Regards
Peter Kelly
