Aimee Jones - Camps International Borneo 2023

My name is Aimee and I am a student at Cheslyn Hay Acadamy in Staffordshire. I am participating in an expedition to Borneo in 2023 for four weeks, which will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include additional elements such as challenging myself to a 4-5 day trek in the Jungle spotting wildlife and jumping on a boat down the Kinabatangan river.

The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:

- Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Borneo

- Raise the living standards of developing communities, within a rural district of Borneo

- Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.

This expedition is extremely important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as more self confidence indepandce, and communication skills in addition to this working as a team, and inprove social skills as well as obtaining a CoPE Level 3 award in Personal Effectivness.
