Aimee Needs Dental Surgery

Aimee is in debilitating chronic pain from her dental problems, and urgently needs surgery to have every single one of her teeth removed and dentures made. Because she doesn’t have dental insurance, this procedure with the dentures she needs is going to cost $12,306.
$12,306 sounds like a lot of money (and it is), but this is actually the cheapest option Aimee has. She’d obviously prefer to get dental implants over dentures, but that would be another small fortune which she just doesn’t have. Before the quarantine started earlier this year, Aimee saw her dentist for a consultation and was told that none of her teeth could be saved and that the easiest, cheapest and fastest option is getting “instant dentures”. She has a visible abscess on the roof of her mouth and about 10 broken/decaying teeth, accompanied by constant excruciating pain and chronic infections. She’s developed immunities to the antibiotics which don’t work anymore. Because she's not able to properly chew her food, she's limited to eating a soft/chopped diet and every meal is a struggle. Aimee NEEDS this procedure done as soon as possible. With our help making it happen, having dental surgery and dentures made will literally be life changing for Aimee.
I (helley AKA Michelle) decided to start this fundraiser with Aimee’s permission, because I knew she wouldn’t do it for herself. Asking for and accepting help is hard to do. Aimee has overcome a lot of struggles in her life, including 12 years of living with an eating disorder that has completely destroyed her teeth. Aimee has been “clean” from her ED for over 7 years, and is now a nationally certified recovery coach helping other people currently struggling with EDs. Still, 7 years later, these dental problems have taken over her entire life. Because she’s so self-conscious about her teeth, Aimee is afraid to talk to most people out of fear of being judged. She would really like to start streaming on YT, but her insecurities about her teeth are holding her back. She agreed to take a picture for this fundraiser because that’s how badly she needs help to get this procedure done ASAP to relieve her pain.
Aimee is one of the kindness, most supportive and amazing humans I know. As much as I’m sure she does not want to be reaching out to the world wide web about her dental issues and to ask for money, she needs our help. Please consider giving what you can and sharing this campaign to friends and family. Let’s get Aimee her smile back!!! <3
