Aintree Primary Colour Run Ultra Marathon

Hi, my name is Jono & I am running an ultra marathon to raise money for Aintree Primary School’s new inclusive playground.

This year one of our school fundraisers is the Colour Run, raising money for new playgrounds and play spaces at the school. The school has enough permanent classrooms and play spaces for 450 students. However this year, in only our 3rd year since opening the school, we went past 1,000 students and still have no additional play spaces. The school has plans for a new playground and updates to existing play spaces to help cater for the growing number of students as the school. But we need to raise more money to help build them.

This year, the students will take part in the Colour Run and raise money for our new playgrounds by running laps around the school oval. As Aintree Primary’s School Council President, and an avid ultra marathon runner, I’ve decided to join in the Colour Run… but add my own twist.

I am aiming to run a 2.8km loop on the footpaths around the school, non stop, for the entire school day, from 9am-3pm. I’m aiming for 6hrs of running and completing around 50km for the day.
