Air Ambulance needed from Puerto Rico to Florida

Hi our names are Edwin & Richard Ramos on March 22 while our mother was visiting her sister in Puerto Rico. We received a call with one of the most horrible news we have ever received in our lives. Our mother Marta Gonzalez had gotten ran over with her sister while crossing a Main Street in Puerto Rico, my mom’s sister my aunt Olga Gonzalez passed away instantly she was 82 my mother 77 was severely injured. She was released a couple of days later with fractured ankle that’s going to need surgery but they don’t have enough doctors to give her a timely surgery. Her other leg had a large laceration that was not stitched up for 48 hours until they finally figure it out they needed to stitcher up her leg. Her legs are not doing well at all. Our mother is also diabetic and has high blood pressure. Her injuries also include her nose and forehead, both elbows ,chest & back imagine a 77-year-old woman being struck by vehicle, and then slamming against the hard asphalt of the highway and scraping almost every part of her body. She was released a couple days later with the intention of getting her strong enough to fly back home to Florida thank God my cousins here are RNs, and are doing the best they can to take care of her, by giving her antibiotics that were prescribed to re-dressing and putting antibiotic creams on the wounds, changing her diapers and bathing her, except that she doesn’t seem to be getting better. The other choice we have is to have her hospitalized back into the same hospital with the sole purpose to request an air ambulance back to the Florida where my mother has lived for the last 40 years however it is extremely expensive $18,000 to be exact, so imagine mine and my brothers pain seeing our mother the way that she is and not being able to fly our mother out of the island to get proper medical care at the hospitals in Miami. This is the last thing we wanted to do ask people for money, but I believe that my mom‘s life and well-being is more important than our pride so here we are. I posted pictures and tv news link of the accident. If you want to check the validity of my story after looking at the photos and the video, you are also welcome to call the hospitals where she was hospitalized. Here one of them is Wilma Vasquez in Vega, Baja, Puerto Rico, and the other one is Centro Médico, San Juan Puerto, Rico you guys are welcome to call those two hospitals and ask if she was ever there you can ask about the accident, just so that you guys know this is not a scam because I know there are a lot of scams out there for sure. I hope God opens up your heart and that you donate as God wills in your hearts.

Hola, nuestros nombres son Edwin y Richard Ramos el 22 de marzo mientras nuestra madre visitaba a su hermana en Puerto Rico. Recibimos una llamada con una de las noticias más horribles que hemos recibido en nuestras vidas. Nuestra madre Marta González había sido atropellada con su hermana mientras cruzaba una calle principal en Puerto Rico, mi madre resultó gravemente herida y mi tía Olga González falleció instantáneamente ella tenía 82 años y mi madre 77 años. Mi madre fue dada de alta un par de días después con un tobillo fracturado que necesitará cirugía, pero no tienen suficientes médicos para operarla a tiempo. Su otra pierna que no fue suturada durante 48 horas hasta que finalmente se dieron cuenta de que necesitaban suturarle la pierna. Sus piernas no están nada bien. Nuestra madre también es diabética y tiene presión arterial alta. Sus lesiones también incluyen la nariz y la frente, ambos codos, el pecho y la espalda. Imagine a una mujer de 77 años siendo atropellada por un vehículo y luego golpeando contra el duro asfalto de la carretera y raspando casi todas las partes de su cuerpo. Fue dada de alta un par de días después con la intención de que se fortaleciera lo suficiente como para volar de regreso a Florida donde ella reside. Se le están dando los cuidados pero parece no mejorar. La otra opción que tenemos es que la hospitalicen nuevamente en el mismo hospital con el único propósito de solicitar una ambulancia aérea de regreso a Florida, donde mi madre ha vivido durante los últimos 40 años, sin embargo, es extremadamente costoso. La cantidad

$18,000 para ser exactos, así que imagínese el dolor mío y de mis hermanos al ver a nuestra madre como es y no poder sacar a nuestra madre de la isla en avión para recibir la atención médica adecuada. Esto es lo último que queríamos pedir dinero a la gente, pero creo que la vida y el bienestar de mi madre son más importantes que nuestro orgullo, así que aquí estamos.
