My daughter and I are friends of Rita-Kath and her daughter, Lillian. At 8 years old, Lillian is experiencing the loss of her father, Jeff. Our hearts are broken for this family; to not only lose their loved one at such a young age but to also lose him at such a difficult time of the year. Instead of planning Christmas celebrations, Rita-Kath and Lillian are planning a celebration of life for a dear partner and father.

I approached Rita-Kath to see if we could help, I know Airdrie is a special community that rallies around families and lifts one another up. Rita-Kath has been exemplary at doing this herself for others in tough times and a good friend to many. After I asked her for permission to hold a gofundme, Rita-Kath has given her consent. Costs are to help with all the expenses related to the hospital trips, end of life planning and, of course, their well-being and needs. In September of 2023 Jeff went to the Dr. with back pain. After tests and blood work, Jeff learned he actually had stage 4 lung cancer. To say this was unexpected is an understatement. The family learned there was very little time left together and on December 7th 2023, Jeff sadly succumbed to his Cancer.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I honestly don't know what to hope for in terms of this gofundme but, if I could make 1 Christmas wish this year, it would be that we can totally relieve them of costs related to Jeff's medical needs, end of life legalities and bless them with some extra money to help them settle into their new life.
