Airin's fight against her brain tumour.
Donation protected
One weekday at the end of May 2019, Airin went to the local GP to have an assessment on her acid reflux and blurry vision, the doctor then asked her to get her blood checked and MRI scan performed. It turns out that Airin have a tumour and a large cyst, and she is also leaking cerebral spinal fluid, this causes her to have constant headache. This tumour is growing on her pituitary gland. The tumour size is roughly as big as a golf ball. Because of the size of The tumours Airin’s optic nerves is damaged and have caused her to lose her sight on her right eye and her left eye she can only see through a small window.
Her current condition is affecting her quality of live and restricting her from performing tasks that might be trivial for someone with good vision. Driving has become impossible for her and she is also having difficulties identifying objects that are in a distance such as the route number of an incoming bus whilst waiting at a bus stop. She still needs to care for her 6-year-old son, Daniel, taking him to and picking him up from school, while her husband is working.
The neuro surgeons has strongly suggested that the only way to get rid of the tumour is to have them surgically removed. This comes at a huge financial cost, and will put a huge financial burden on the family. David, Airin's husband does not currently have a permanent job.
At the moment Airin is an outpatient at Royal prince Alfred Hospital at camperdown, awaiting surgery. They have been quoted $37,119 for the surgery cost (as per attached invoice estimate). . As her close friend, I would like to appeal for your help and kindness. If we can raise more than $37119, Airin would be able to have the surgery which will improve her quality of live. The funds would enable David to take better care of Airin and Daniel whilst she is recovering from the surgery. This surgery ideally needs to be performed as soon as possible, as the tumour is growing as time goes on.
Donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to donate directly, David's bank account details are as follows;
