Aiuta Mowgli A Correrre Ancora!

Ciao, mi chiamo Ilaria e Mowgli è il nostro cucciolo di pastore tedesco di 7 mesi che ha sempre giocato e corso velocissimo fino a circa 10 giorni fa, quando ha iniziato a zoppicare severamente!

Nell’ultima settimana è stato visitato da 2 veterinari ortopedici estremamente qualificati:

Entrambe le volte gli sono state fatte le radiografie sotto sedazione.

La diagnosi, confermata da tutte e due i veterinari è quella di LUSSAZIONE ROTULEA di 4° GRADO, ossia il grado pìù grave.

Se Mowgli non verrà operato in tempi brevi resterà zoppo e andrà incontro a deformazione ossea sempre più importante rischiando di dover fare un intervento ancora più invasivo e addirittura di non poter più camminare.

Data la mancanza del solco rotuleo, quasi sicuramente necessiterà di una protesi.

Le spese affrontate in questa settimana per le visite sono state decisamente onerose (870 euro) e anche il costo dell’intervento è veramente elevato (3900 euro)!

In più dopo l’intervento ci sarà la necessità di:

• un kennel di contenimento per non pregiudicare la riuscita dell’operazione durante le prime settimane, servirà a proteggere Mowgli quando resterà a casa da solo, all’interno di uno spazio che ne limiti il più possibile movimenti di carico (tipo salire e scendere dal divano, dal letto, zompare sul tavolo, etc…) (150 euro)

• farmaci post intervento (antiinfiammatori, antidolorifici, sedativi etc…) (150 euro)

• visite ortopediche di controllo con ulteriori lastre (450 euro)

Facendo la somma delle spese già sostenute e quelle da affrontare, i costi totali dovrebbero aggirarsi attorno ai 5.500 euro circa.

Ti chiedo per favore di aiutarmi perché sostenere queste spese da sola è davvero problematico!

Mowgli in pochi mesi è diventato un riferimento indispensabile per me ma soprattutto per mio figlio di 13 anni.

Con Mowgli ci sentiamo al sicuro, protetti e amati. Ci fa stare bene e ci fa sempre ridere!

Alla mattina ci da la sveglia con le sue zampate e i suoi bacini un po' puzzolenti…Scherzosamente lo abbiamo soprannominato Chernobyl per via del suo alito pesante mattutino.

Mowgli non si lamenta nonostante il dolore alla zampa, è un cane forte e coraggioso.

Oltre ad essere buono e giocherellone, ha un fiuto davvero pazzesco!

Se lo aiuterai a guarire, sono convinta che ti restituirà questo dono diventando un “cane molecolare” per la Protezione Civile. Saremmo un’ottima squadra!

Ho già contattato il centro di addestramento Lupo Maestro di Cogliate, gestito dagli Alpini, che ha il campo macerie più grande d’Europa (https://lupomaestro.it).

Ti prego, aiutaci a curare il nostro cucciolo perché possa di nuovo giocare e correre con tutti i suoi amici a 4 zampe.

HELP MOWGLI TO RUN AGAIN!

Hi, I'm Ilaria and Mowgli is our 7-month-old German shepherd puppy who always played and ran very fast until about 10 days ago when he started limping severely!

In the last week he has been seen by 2 extremely qualified orthopedic veterinarians:

Dr. Virgilio Rovani (http://virgiliorovani.it/)

Both times he was x-rayed under sedation.

The diagnosis, confirmed by both veterinarians is that of ROTULEA LUSCATION of 4th GRADE (the most severe).

If Mowgli is not operated on soon, he will remain lame and will go through more and more bone deformation, risking even more invasive surgery and even being unable to walk.

Given the lack of a patellar groove, he will almost certainly need a prosthesis.

The expenses faced in this week for the visits were definitely significant (870 euros) and the cost of the surgery is also really high (3900 euros)!

In addition, after the surgery there will be a need for:

• a containment kennel so as not to jeopardize the success of the operation during the first few weeks, it will serve to protect Mowgli when he is home alone, within a space that will limit as much as possible his load movements (like getting on and off the couch, bed, zomping on the table, etc...) (150 euro)

• postoperative medications (anti-inflammatories, painkillers, sedatives etc...) (150 euros)

• orthopedic follow-up visits with additional x-rays (450 euros)

Adding up the expenses already incurred and those to be incurred, the total costs should be around 5,500 euros.

I ask you to please help me because bearing these expenses alone is really problematic!

Mowgli in a few months became an indispensable reference for me but especially for my 13-year-old son.

With Mowgli we feel safe, protected and loved. He makes us feel good and always makes us laugh!

He wakes us up in the morning with his paws and slightly smelly kisses...We jokingly nicknamed him Chernobyl because of his heavy morning breath. Mowgli does not complain despite the pain in his paw; he is a strong and brave dog.

In addition to being good-natured and playful, Mowgli has a really crazy nose!

If you help him recover, I am convinced he will return this gift by becoming a "molecular dog" for Civil Defense. We would make a great team!

I have already contacted the Lupo Maestro training center in Cogliate, run by the Alpini, which has the largest rubble camp in Europe (https://lupomaestro.it).

Please help me care for my puppy so that he can once again play and run with all his four-legged friends.
