Aiyla’s recovery ❤️

Hi everyone, so is this go fund me is for my beautiful cousin Aiyla and her mummy Euly. Aiyla was rushed to St Mary's Hospital on the 25th March 2023 critically ill & needing life saving support, after suffering from a severe case of Strep A. The disease took over her whole body causing sepsis shock, tonsillitis, pneumonia and organ failure to many of her organs. When Aiyla was brought into St Mary's Hospital by Hillingdon Hospital the nurses and consultants didn't think Aiyla was going to survive, they worked from 3am

until 4pm the next day to stabilise Aiyla and keep her with us. After spending weeks on the intensive care ward Aiyla became stable. This is where we learnt about the life changing situation aiyla was to face. On the 9th May 2023 - 6 weeks after Aiyla was first admitted to hospital, Aiyla had her first surgery to amputate both legs through the knees and multiple fingers. Since then Aiyla has had 3 more surgeries and has 1 more before she can fully start her recovery process. After suffering with Strep A, sepsis shock syndrome Aiylas body immediately began to shut down causing the blood vessels to stop the blood flow in her less vital organs such as her arms, fingers, legs and toes and save her main organs such as her heart & brain.

Aiyla is a confident, caring, brave, intelligent and sweet little girl. I wanted to add a quote from Euly…

“Aiyla will continue to live her life to the fullest, pursuing her dreams and doing whatever she loves. I always knew Aiyla was a strong, powerful girl but she has completely blown our minds with her bravery, strength and fight. Could not possibly be prouder than I already am. Not only did the nurses save my baby, but they saved me too, I will be forever grateful.”

We’ve decided we would like to actively fundraise with the go fund me, we are currently still deciding on which route to go. It is between climbing snowdon, sky-diving and tough mudder obstacle courses. This is to share the experience with everyone that donates and for Aiyla to laugh at her family and friends who decide to participate. The money from this go fund me will all be donated towards whatever Aiyla wishes one example would be future prosthetics she might need, home adaptations when discharged from hospital, trips for Aiyla that are not possible without extra funds, Aiyla’s general recovery and most importantly for Aiyla to live the most normal life as possible.
