Ajani's Gourmet Strawberries

My story is one of sadness and also of gladness. My name is Kijai Khamisi and on February 11, 2014, I gave birth to a wonderful baby boy and named him Ajani. After living for only 19 days I suffered the tragedy of his transitioning.  While mourning my loss, I also thought about the fact that the world did not have the opportunity to experience how awesome and how sweet he was. I felt that everyone deserved to know just a little about his greatness!

While on bed rest during my pregnacy with Ajani, my mother would bring strawberries as a part of my breakfast, lunch...and dinner! I'm not sure if the strawberries were on sale or if they were actually her favorite fruit, but based on experiencing them so regularly they naturally became a part of my memory of my son. Within no time, in order to cope with the situation of lossing my son, I began as a hobby dipping the strawberries into a variety of chocolates and decorating them with fun and edible toppings to suit everyones' particular tastes and demand. I used toppings such as; almonds, coconut, sprinkles, dried cherries, butterfingers, cookies-n-creame, heathbars, etc., and officially Ajani's Gourmet Strawberries came to life!

It's common to hear our customers say, "The strawberries are so pretty, they look too good to eat" particularly in referrence to our famous bling berries. Ajani's berries are hand decorated with quality ingredients and are freshly made to order. We offer a variety of other homemade sweet treats; lemon, caramel, and strawberry fluffs, pound cakes, cupcakes, pies and cookies. All of our treats include vegan and organic choices

Since 2014 we have been catering from home providing hundreds of satisfied customers with our delicious treats. Ajani's Gourmet Strawberries is now moving into our own shop,  'Ajani's Gourmet Strawberries Sweets Boutique.' We are in the process of preparing our location at 4210 Hamilton Avenue in the Northside area for a grand opening celebration, and we are in need of your assistance.  Ajanis Gourmet Strawberries just recently won two categories (People's Choice and Kid in a Candy Store) in the City Beat's 2016 'Sugar Rush' competition held at the Cincinnati Play House in the Park.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 by November 30, 2016. The money will go towards preparing the shop--buying equipment, a sign, and advertisement.

Your donation will help to keep my loving son's name alive, which is my mission! Your donation will allow the world to taste part of the sweetness that my son gave to me and my family during his brief visit. Your donation will permit what started out as a hobby to be further developed into a reality of entrepreneurship!
