AJ’s Adaptive Equipment

I would like everyone to meet AJ! AJ was born with Krabbe’s disease, which is an inherited disorder that destroys the protective coating (myelin) of nerve cells in the brain and throughout the nervous system. In most cases, signs and symptoms of Krabbe disease develop in babies before 6 months of age. Sadly, in most cases, it causes death before the age of 2.

AJ is a true miracle!! He is now 8 years old and he is brilliant, handsome, and an absolute ray of sunshine to everyone who meets him. Recently, his mother applied through his medical insurance to get him the adaptive equipment he needs to move around and sit comfortably. Unfortunately, she was denied saying the equipment wasn’t necessary. As a mother, you want your child to be as comfortable as possible and being denied really hit hard for her. She’s currently out of work due to covid-19 and has been saving every little dollar she has to pay all their bills. A mother shouldn’t have to choose between paying bills and getting things their child needs.

What AJ needs is a soft adaptive chair, the floor base, a mobile base, the headrest, and a tray. Right now the only equipment he has keeps him in the standing position and a chair that is not flexible at all and often leaves AJs legs tight and his butt sore. Any and every donation helps! Please share and spread the word to get AJ his chair and the things he needs with it! As a parent we only want what's best for our children; to make our babies happy, healthy ,and comfortable. So please help this mama do that!
