Hello, while some people may know me as Law or Pookie, others know me as Johnathan, Law.
I am hosting a Juneteenth Fundraiser to help draw attention to the discrimination that Black people face in society. My goal is to donate $500 each to the Black Mental Health Alliance Fund, and to The Okra Project.
The Black Mental Health Alliance Fund's Mission is to: "To develop, promote and sponsor trusted culturally-relevant educational forums, trainings and referral services that support the health and well-being of Black people and other vulnerable communities.
The Okra Project's Mission: "The Okra Project pays Black Trans chefs to go into the homes of Black Trans people to cook them a healthy and home-cooked meal...."
Black trans minorities have some of the highest suicide rates, upwards of 35%. With these donations I wish to help bring awareness to the alarming suicide rates of Black Trans and members of the LTBTQ+ community. Additionally bringing awareness to the importance of Black Mental Health.
