Akil Jackson's fight against cancer!

Hello family and friends, many of you may already know that Akil was diagnosed with a rare form of Lymphoma cancer in the winter of 2013. During that time, he endured 6 long months of chemotherapy treatments. In the Summer of 2014, the cancer went into remission for 4 years until, unfortunately, in the Spring of 2018 the cancer returned. In the Summer of 2018, Akil went through several more rounds of intense chemotherapy treatments hoping to put the cancer back into remission. Those treatments were successful and kept his cancer in remission for 15 months, until September 2019 when Akil’s oncologist informed him that his cancer had returned for a third time. Although this news was devastating to Akil and our family, Akil is a fighter and his faith in GOD has allowed him to claim VICTORY over this disease! He is determined to beat this cancer again! Akil has been receiving the best care at John Hopkins Hospital where he has recently endured two rounds of chemotherapy and will undergo several more rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatments to get his cancer into remission again. Once the cancer has been put into remission again, Akil will undergo a Bone Marrow Transplant procedure in an attempt to cure his cancer. Akil’s road to recovery will be long, daunting and painful. After the Bone Marrow Transplant, Akil will be in recovery for the next 6 months to 1 year. During that time, Akil’s focus should be on his recovery and not the financial strain on our family from medical bills because of Akil’s necessary absence from the two jobs he normally works. This campaign is to help ease some of the financial pain and stress of Akil’s long and, prayerfully, successful fight against cancer.
