Help Akim, Leah, and their precious children

Hello everyone! I am creating this go fund me as a way for friends and family of our brother Akim, his wife Leah, and their beautiful children to donate to help after they were in a terrible accident which resulted in 3 of them being flown by helicopter to the nearest hospital.

In the early morning hours of July 8th, Akim and his family were driving through Canada on their way back home in Alaska. They were hauling an enclosed trailer that was full. We aren’t sure what caused the accident, and Akim has limited memory of it at the moment, but the truck and trailer both flipped and rolled multiple times. Everyone, except their youngest child Hadassah, was ejected from the vehicle as it rolled - despite having been buckled up. Israel was found furthest from the wreckage with significant injuries. Rachel was found, still strapped into her car seat, under debris and pieces of the trailer. Akim, Leah, and Israel were life flighted to the nearest hospital in Whitehorse, Canada. The two girls were determined to be okay with minor injuries and were driven to the hospital where they were later picked up by their Aunt. Akim, Leah, and Israel were all transferred to Anchorage, AK.

Akim has a fractured spine and sternum. Leah has injuries to her leg. Israel sustained several injuries including a broken pelvis, and a ruptured bladder. He required surgery for his injuries. Thankfully by the grace of God, and despite being ejected from the truck, Rachel’s injuries were minor and she was able to be discharged with Hadassah.

This family will face multiple challenges following this devastating accident. We have had several people asking how they can help, and we decided that creating this fundraiser would be the best and most helpful option. They can use the money towards medical bills and bills at home while Akim is unable to work. This situation is terrible, and we want to ease the burden and stress from them as they heal. We understand that not everyone is in a position to donate - so we ask that you pray for the Taranov family. Also, please share this page so that anyone who wants to help them is able to do so.
