Akira Angels new dog rehabilitation centre
Donation protected
Hi. My name's Lee Harker and I'm doing a 240km charity walk on the Costa Blanca between Moraira and Valencia and back to help raise funds for a new dog training and rehabilitation zone at the Akira Dog Sanctuary in Benissa. The centre will help teach rescued dogs new life skills and overcome trauma which will help their potential for adoption.
The reason I’m doing this is because I love dogs (well, all animals, just dogs the most!). I have been volunteering at the Akira Shelter for nearly three years and it’s become a passion of mine to help as many rescued dogs as possible. If I won the Euro millions I would build the best dog shelter in the world. I haven’t yet so in the meantime, I’m doing this walk.
There’s more information about the project at https://akira-angels.org and about Akira’s work in general at https://akira-animals.com
I aim to walk about 40km a day, staying at various hotels/hostels along the way. The walk should take about six days, starting on Monday 30th January and finishing the following Saturday 4th February. Akira dogs will be joining me at the beginning of the walk and welcoming me back at the end.
I appreciate it’s an expensive time of the year for people especially with household bills going up, so even if you can’t donate, it would be massively appreciated if you could share or repost this link to friends and colleagues.
Thank you all so much for your support – it really will make a difference to Akira’s work.
