Akiyama Family Home Lost in Lahaina Wildfire

Donation protected
On the night of the wildfires, our family lost a property we’ve called home since the early 1950s. Four generations of Kawabatas, Akiyamas and Ginozas: Mike, Myrtle (Kawabata), and Stacey Akiyama; Royden, Susan, Ryan, Roen, and Sara Ginoza; and Troy and Tammy (Akiyama) Ching have lived and made cherished memories there. While we’re grateful to report that everyone safely escaped in time, starting over will be a long and difficult road that is unfortunately complicated by medical challenges in recent years.

Mike, Myrtle and Stacey lost almost everything they owned. Mike and Myrtle are nearing 80 years old, and Mike has limited mobility. Stacey helps care for his parents while also working at Princess Nahienaena Elementary School.

Money raised will go directly to basic necessities right now, and toward future expenses, such as long-term housing. There are so many families in Lahaina suffering, but anything to help our family rebuild would be deeply appreciated!
