Akwen Ajang Funeral
Donation protected
Hello everyone this GoFundMe is created for Akwen my dearest younger brother that I held so dear in heart. All proceeds will go towards his funeral costs and expenses.
Anyone who who knew Akwen knew that he was someone who was full of light. He was a kind soul and anyone who had the privilege to come across him understandingly knew he was an individual that never allowed anyone to feel small regardless of how big he was. He was full of love and laughter. He was a charismatic person who always had the biggest and brightest smile on his face. His gift to us and to everyone was his gift of laughter. He was full of jokes and irregardless of your stature, he never allowed room for you to feel alienated. He was just a baby. He was our baby.
He graduated from Thomas R Proctor High School in the year of 2019. He was murdered, shot, and left all alone. I can not understand the pain he must have felt and I wish I could have been there to comfort him in his final breath. My mother, Akwen, and I immigrated from South Sudan fleeing from violence, persecution, and war. My mothers belief was that America was supposed to be a safe haven for us to grow and mature, but did not think it would be another place for us to feel unsafe. My mother as a widowed woman raised 4 children including myself despite the tribulations she had to face as an African Woman raising an African family not understanding the language or culture. Now he's left us. However, we are comforted that he is at peace and no longer in pain. We are no longer separated, but comforted that he has joined our father Akol Akol in heaven protecting and guiding us with warmth, love, comfort, and laughter.
I kindly request that anybody who has had the privilege of knowing my brother and our situation to kindly donate towards his funeral expenses and further reparations. It would help us abundantly.
With love,
The family of Akwen Ajang
