Alaina Amber Henderson was born on April 5, 1995, in Clinton Township, Michigan. She graduated from C.E. Ellison High School in Killeen TX in 2013. She attended college at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and graduated with a degree in English in 2017. She attended law school at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Texas Southern University. She graduated with her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood in 2020 during the height of the COVID Pandemic. On September 11, 2022, Alaina celebrated with friends at a lounge in San Antonio. She had just received a new job offer. An individual unassociated with Alaina fired a gun in the establishment, and a stray bullet struck Alaina. Alaina was an innocent bystander who tragically lost her life to gun violence. She was a sweet, gentle young lady who loved her family and animals. She had a fondness for turtles and lovingly called herself "Turtlelain". Alaina is survived by her mother, father, stepfather, maternal and paternal grandparents, her 4 sisters, her 4-month-old nephew and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.

I am Alaina’s aunt, Denise S. Young. She lived with me all while she was in law school and she often worked with my law firm. She assisted me in trial prep, mediation, and a bunch of other stuff because she was eager to learn and wanted to be a good lawyer. Her life came to a tragic end because of gun violence. The collective hearts of everyone in my family are shattered into a million pieces!

We are asking for support through this GoFundMe to help the family and cover funeral expenses and associated costs incurred during this extremely difficult period of grieving. Any funds remaining after fees and costs are covered will be used for the campaign #JusticeForAlaina to combat gun violence.
