Alaina Bowman Medical Fundraiser

Hello everyone, I am Jane and I am setting up this page to ask for financial help and prayers for our precious Alaina during her recent sickness. Alaina is my husband’s cousin but is like a niece to us both.

Last Wednesday, 9/20/23 she was admitted to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain where she remains as of tonight 9/28.

They found an abscess in her colon and they were treating her in hopes it would heal without draining or major surgery. She has been in tremendous pain through this and of course unable to work. Justin her husband has had to miss work as well due to setting with Alaina. They are a young couple with a 12 year old son Lucas; Alaina is only 30 years old.

This week they found another abscess forming in her bladder and she had to see a surgeon. Yesterday, 9/27 they got interventional radiology and they drained the abscess. It’s been touch and go since this started whether they would do surgery now or not which would require temporary colostomy bag.

She has a drain in her now. If her blood work is Ok, she may be able to go home in few days while the drain is working. The doctor's goal is to let her heal as much as possible before removing the bad section of her colon so that she won't have to have a colostomy bag.

Alaina most likely wont be able to work for awhile, several weeks and possibly months. They do have insurance but that does not help with deductibles, daily needs, food, gas, and normal living cost. Alaina has not been at her current job long enough to get FMLA and any help would be appreciated. If you know Alaina well enough (family & close friends) or you are not comfortable donating through here just let Justin or myself know and we can make arrangements. Even if you cannot help financially your prayers are greatly desired and very much appreciated.
