Alamo Drafthouse Ashburn Staff Coronavirus Fund

Donation protected
Like so many other part-time and full-time workers in the theater industry across the world, COVID-19 is effecting our community here in Ashburn, VA. As of now, The Alamo Drafthouse has turned off the projectors and closed its doors for the safety of the employees and the patrons of the Northern Virginia area.

The National Association of Theater Owners pledged $1 million in relief funds to workers across the nation while The Alamo Drafthouse stepped up and pledged $2 million for their own workers. A wonderfully generous move on both parts. However, our beloved Alamo Drafthouse in Ashburn, VA is a franchise location and per their contract will not be receiving any of those funds.

This furlough affects everyone that makes everything run at the Alamo Drafthouse in Ashburn, VA. This will mean no paychecks for around 100-120 servers, kitchen staff, bartenders, concierge, projectionists, and management. With no end in sight, we'd like to be able to give back to the workers that work so hard to give us a great experience.

The Alamo is much more than just a theater. It is a communal safe space for people with a passion for cinema. A home for those that are looking for the blockbuster experience, a home for repertory screenings from all over the world, and a home of a film group with over 1,000 members.

Every bit of these funds will be sent to the Alamo Ashburn team to help them in this time of uncertainty. Please consider giving to those in need so we can hopefully continue to have an amazing experience with those that we've come to call friends.
