Final Expenses for Alan and Karen Burt
Donation protected
My name is Jeannie McDonald Hammonds and for close friends and family, you may remember that Alan Burt and I are first cousins. We grew up as close as siblings. Life took us in separate directions but we would always manage to catch up somehow. In August of last year, things changed for Alan and Karen.
The short story is that Alan has had several strokes and Karen passed away unexpectedly on last Sunday, August 14, 2022.
Alan had this stroke while driving down Cherry Street, hit a speed bump which threw his car into a huge tree and flipped his car upside down with him inside. It took several minutes to get him out of the car. He lost the use of his left arm, his right hand shakes all the time, he is a fall risk and he can no longer take care of any basic personal needs, i.e., preparing food, showering, walking alone, driving, etc. Karen was the love of his life and they were inseparable. If you knew them, you knew they were always together. Their life changed drastically after Alan’s strokes. Karen became his full-time caregiver and did not tell very many people what was going on in their life. Would NEVER ask for help…physical, financial or otherwise! To make matters worse, Karen passed away unexpectedly last Sunday in her sleep. He has lost the love of his life, her income, his caregiver and he is having a difficult time with funeral expenses and his personal care expenses. His son, Kevin, will be relocating to take care if his dad full-time. Someone will have to be with Alan 24/7. I pray that some of you will be able to contribute to this fund. Please keep Alan and Kevin in your prayers. You may contact me with any questions. Thank you!
