It is with aching hearts that we announce that our dear Alan is once again facing a battle for his life.
Our love for Alan is beyond words. Our wish is to give him access to the best medical care and quality of life available. Ultimately, our hope would be that this page should not be needed at all, but are faced with the most terrible truth that it is.
At the age of 21, Alan was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent radio therapy. After marrying his best friend at 30, the couple underwent months of treatment to fall pregnant and Solange became sick soon after. She struggled with illnesses for years with Alan by her side, before undergoing surgery and recovering, with their son and the rest of their lives ahead of them.
At 35, Alan was then diagnosed with a rare, aggressive cancer. He was fortunate enough to have found it early and operated on… but this came at another huge financial cost to the family, and they were not covered under Private Health for any of this. Alan has now been diagnosed with multiple brain tumours and is being turned down by his health fund yet again.
We are hoping with this gesture, that we are able to lift some of the financial burden associated with biopsy and treatment, so he and his wife are able to focus more on making lasting memories for Amir to keep. The road ahead will be a tough one, and surgery is not an option for Alan, drastically reducing the precious time he has with his loved ones.
Alan is a devoted husband, loving son and brother, loyal friend, and the most amazing father. The chance to watch Amir grow together and experience all the things a family does throughout a lifetime is all we can hope for these 3 beautiful souls. They have endured so much, yet continue to love and support each other and everyone around them, despite their hardships.
Alan is not the type of person to ask for anything or have expectations of anyone. He has always been the most kind, caring, genuine person, who would do anything for those in need… we just hope we can do the same for him.
