Alan Lynn Fundraiser

Alan Lynn is one of the most caring, selfless, humble and loving people I have ever had the honor of knowing. Alan has lived a life of service to his country and community. Now Alan needs our support, prayers and help!
Alan began his life of service as a United States Marine. After completing his time in the Marine Corps, Alan continued serving through a career in Law Enforcement. Since 1995 Alan has been employed with the Albany Police Department. He began his career as a cadet serving in that capacity for three years. Alan was hired as a full time police officer at APD in 1998. Alan served in many capacities at APD to include Officer, SRO, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant and most recently as Captain. Alan is a major supporter of the Special Olympics and always gave his time and resources to support events like Tip A Cop, Shop with a Cop, The Torch Run, and the Polar Plunge. Alan also played a major role in establishing a peer support team at APD. He is always thinking of others!
On March 31st, 2021 Alan retired from APD and Law Enforcement after a long and honorable career. As he wrote on his FACEBOOK, "Now it's time to ride off into the sunset, work on my retirement hairstyle and see what door opens next for me."
On Monday, April 5th, five days into retirement Alan went to Urgent Care for a sore throat and before the day was done he was being rushed to OHSU knowing it was likely he had Leukemia. Alan's wife Karin underwent ankle surgery earlier the same day and was unable to go with Alan to OHSU.
Since the 5th, Alan has been at OHSU undergoing a battery of testing and treatments. It is now confirmed that Alan has Acute Myeloid Leukemia with the FLT3 mutation. Alan has been told he will likely be staying at OHSU for 4-6 weeks, depending on how treatment goes.
This is the beginning of a very long, hard and expensive fight for Alan and Karin. I humbly ask that you help them however you can. The donations will be used to help cover medical cost, travel, lodging, food, home repairs and maintenance.
