Alan Rudkin (Al James)
Donation protected
As Uncle Alans birthday (16th March) draws close I would like to update you all on how your kind donations have been used to fund some wonderful items in his memory.
Thank you again for your kind donations towards these items.
We have commissioned a commemorative bench to be made by The Yorkshire sculpture park in reasonably sourced oak which is stunning.
The sculpture park is very dear to Uncle Alan and Uncle Stephen and this commission will help the future of the park which is a registered charity .
Uncle Stephen and my mum have chosen the most beautiful spot for it to be situated with breathtaking views of the park for you to sit and reflect. The bench is currently with the carver and will be placed in the park towards the end of April.
Alans name will feature in The Walk Of Art 2 at the sculpture park.
This permanent structure made of cast iron by Gordon Young and Why Not Associates forms an extraordinary walkway to the centre.
This has been commissioned and will be placed later in the year.
We have made a donation to Nordoff and Robbins ,this being added to donations made at Uncle Alans funeral and private donations has reached an amazing £668.77 which will help to continue their amazing work and continue to keep Alans memory alive by supporting those in need.
We have also made a small donation to The Kirkwood hospice Light Up a Life appeal at Christmas. The Kirkwood hospice where Alan worked have also granted permission for us to plant a rose bush in his name in the garden for all to enjoy with a plaque of remembrance. This will be planted over the coming months.
As a family we thank you all for your love and kindness over the last 6 months. your kindness has helped us navigate our grief and sadness.
We know he would love all that we have done .Please raise a glass to him on his birthday and think of him with love often.
Much love
