Alan Wax's War With Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Cancer doesn’t have to win. My Father was diagnosed with Malignant Glioblastoma, a very aggressive cancer that if untreated can leave a prognosis of 3 months. With the help of chemotherapy and radiation, his life can be prolonged to only 12 to 14 months. We have been praying and seeking the Lord’s help for our grave circumstance and God has been so good.
My Dad (Alan) has endured a rough journey through his clinical trial to treat his atrocious cancer. We are now at the point where good days can be walking a couple feet and talking with friends. To bad days, when it takes three people to lift my Dad out of bed. My Mom has been amazing through it all, never leaving his side and being his aid through it all. But she needs help and most importantly my Dad needs help. We need a lot more professional caregiving than just my Mom, but it is very expensive to have caregivers 7 days a week for a few hours a day.
We have cried so many tears in awe of the generosity of others and their willingness to step in to help my Dad get better. Thank you to everyone for all the support through every avenue. You have all poured your love onto our family and for that we are grateful and amazed at the power of community and the influence my Dad has had in so many people’s lives. Alan is the most amazing man that will do everything and anything for others, thank you for doing everything and anything for him.
With the support and help of all our friends and family, we have been encouraged to start a GoFundMe page. We pray that there are many people out there that are willing to donate to a Father, Husband, Brother, Friend, Leader, Provider, and a Man who has devoted his life to Christ. So, we ask for your help now. He is one of the most thoughtful, caring, and lovable father and friend; now we are all just trying to think like Alan. As he has been there for many of you; you have been there for him and his family in this critical time and we thank you immensely!
If you cannot donate any money, prayers are always welcomed. Some friends have come to visit us to spend time with Alan and others have brought us dinners and his favorite snacks. All these things we are thankful for and we just ask for any help you are willing to give us in this difficult time. God Bless. - The Wax Family
