Help Alana fight against Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Donation protected
On 8 November 2022, Alana Ramos was admitted into Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital and was later diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma. Alana and her parents Melissa and Nelson spent a day shy of two weeks in the hospital. Throughout this time, she had several different types of scans, a biopsy, bone marrow retrieval and port placement procedure. The lymphoma tumor was found in-between the brain lining and the brain. Alana’s case is extremely rare due to the location of the tumor. The only treatment option is aggressive chemotherapy for the next 8-9 months, some radiation sessions, diet restrictions and then approximately a year and half of continuous maintenance therapy. The doctors have been very positive with this treatment plan and have assured us that at the end of the two and half years she will be in complete remission. Today marks month 1 from the day she was admitted, we have a long road ahead of us but are in great spirits about it. We have been overwhelmed by all the love and support from friends, family and coworkers and appreciate everything that has been done thus far. A lot of people have asked how they can help Alana and the family. We have created a GoFundMe account to help cover costs that Tri Care does not. Her care is extensive but going well. There are many added costs to include healthy meals for her, new clothing while in treatment, and just daily items that they are now unable to accomplish while taking care of their daughter. Funds that the family does not utilize for the care of Alana will be donated to Wolfson Children’s Hospital to help less fortunate families that are fighting the same battle.
