Alana's Fight for Haiti

Donation protected

I have decided to step a million miles out of my comfort zone and take part in a charity boxing match.....Don't ask!

It is for charity after all, so I am still training although I am feeling like a deer in headlights the majority of the time doing so! haha.

I have decided to raise funds for a charity that a good friend of mine, Joe Mc Cullagh, helped set up and runs - called 'Haiti in our Hands'.

Haiti in our Hands is a charitable organisation committed to improving the lives of the people of Haiti with a holistic approach based on compassion and solidarity.

The charity was set up as the people behind it believe the people of Haiti are amongst the most deserving in the world and our efforts will make a huge positive impact.

"We believe that through poverty alleviation, healthcare provision and access to education, the people of Haiti can lead the lives they deserve and raise the country back on to its feet once more".

Haiti in our Hands believes in a “hand up, not a hand out” approach. We believe in empowering the Haitian people to help themselves resulting in long term, sustainable results.

What better charity to fundraise for than one that you know exactly where the money is going.

Joe and his team take annual trips to Haiti each year and fundraise year round to keep the charity going so I couldn't be happier to fight for this cause.....Literally!

Haiti in our Hands Facebook Page

This isn't just one of those things you donate to and never know where the money goes - follow the facebook page (above) and see exactly what the charity get up to when they visit Haiti and what a difference your donation can make.

So, please, please make a donation, no matter how small, it will help these people more than you imagine...I'll even live stream the fight on the night if I hit my target ;)

I'm sure plenty of you would love to see that!haha.

P.S. Did I mention that I'm still struggling with the part where I've to actually hit someone repeatedly aiming for their head? For some reason I don't mind getting hit but struggle with hitting back part.. FML......Yep - this'll end well....
