Hi everyone, My name is Alandra. Back in October of 2021’ being only 19 years old I diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I was immediately asked to go to into surgery about 3 weeks later & received 2 open heart surgeries. They went well at first, however, I started having complications. My heart did not get stronger from those surgeries. Going into surgery my ejection fraction (how much blood is pumped into your body) was around 40-45% after my surgery it lowered to 20-25%. I believe now it’s even lower to around 15%. Before going into surgery I was a very active teenager who loved doing hair—making money, hanging with family/friends, going bowling…doing what teenagers love to do. In a nutshell having heart surgery has caused me to miss weddings, birthday parties, school & events for people I love. Raising this money will help me & my family financially. Getting gas to go to my doctor appointments every week. Buying more healthier groceries for home (low sodium diet & high protein diet) Paying co pays on medications insurance may not fully cover. Currently, as of May 26,2022 I am now 20 & back in the hospital. My heart has became weaker. When I first got here my kidney & liver weren’t functioning well. However, by the grace of God himself they both are functioning better. My liver is just congested with a little fluid. They then told me the news of qualifying to be a heart transplant patient because my heart isn’t getting any stronger. There were other options but those wouldn’t be quite beneficial for me. The surgery will be very soon. Even though this is very scary for my supportive family (who have been very supportive ) it’s scary for me as well. Even if you don’t donate please just say a prayer for me & my family. We’ve been on a long journey & this journey will not break us! It will make us stronger, keep our faith & rely on the man above…God
