Alan Grubb Memorial Fund

December 26, 2015 was a day full of heartache in the midst of a season that is supposed to be filled with joy and happiness! That Saturday morning my wife and I received a call from her mother that my wife's father, Alan Grubb, was unresponsive and not breathing. My wife and I immediately jumped in the car and shot down the road to her parents' home. When we arrived, fire and EMS were already there and were trying to revive Alan. They were unsuccessful and my wife's daddy was gone. Her daddy was not just a father but also her closest friend.  The paramedics told us that Alan had suffered a massive heart attack. He had no history of heart disease. This whole thing was completely unexpected and seems unreal. On Christmas Eve, Alan had shared with his family how thankful he was to have the opportunity to spend time with all of us. He said that we should all be thankful because you never know when it may be your last Christmas. We never thought that he would, unknowingly, be predicting his own death. My heart hurt all day and I never want to see my wife hurt that way again. When we were waiting for EMS to be done with their part, we heard "Swing Low Sweet Charriot" play on the TV. It was an amazing reminder that Alan was a man of God and was with Him in heaven. We didn't even have to question where Alan's soul went and that gave everyone a great and much needed comfort! Sherry, Alan's wife, is now stuck with the burden of a car payment, house payment and funeral expenses. Sherry works full time and many weeks she even works overtime. Still, there will not be enough income to cover all of these payments. There is not a whole lot more she can do to keep her head above water. She had a $10,000 life insurance policy on Alan. That money is not enough to pay for all of the funeral expenses. The money we are trying to raise for Sherry is the amount needed to keep her home. If we are unsuccessful, Sherry may have to sell many of Alan's things that hold great sentimental value. Thank you all in advance for your overwhelming love and support! Whether you are able to help with this fund or not, please pray for Sherry and the family!
