Alanna Kowalski Scholarship Fund

In memory and honor of my wife Alanna, her family and I are requesting donations to our son's school.  Alanna dedicated her adult life to the betterment of her children through volunteer work at Lake Norman Christian School (LKNC).  She unfortunaley passed away from a tragic accident at such a young age and wasn't able to fufill what became her life's passion.

She and I were very passionate about kids that we called "the ones".  Kids that from time to time need a little extra attention or nuturing so that they can fufill their full potential.  Kids that have so much to offer to change this world for the better and bring happiness to our lives.

We learned so much from being around these kids and are truly the "lucky ones" for the perspective they gave us on what truly matters most in life.  My son, at 8yrs old, had a saying that sums it up well: "Everyday I wake up and my brain is like a blank sheet of paper, I just like to keep drawing on it all day long".  Everyday was a new day for him and he couldn't wait to experience and capture all life had to offer...and Alanna was his guiding light.

Alanna's passion for life was unmatched and her commitment to family and friends was immeasurable. LKNC was a place she called a second home.  She loved everything about the school and gave an unbelievable amount of her time, money and energy toward its needs.  
I've never been to a place where the love for children and the committment to creating a safe and nuturing environment for learning  wasn't simply a mission statement.   At LKNC it's everybody's passion.
