Alan’s healing and recovery
On the evening of July 4, 2021, while enjoying fireworks, our father was violently assaulted. During a family friendly gathering, a vehicle with 3 passengers arrived, speeding, and driving erratically into the crowd of many adults and children. Someone shouted for the car to slow down, and they responded by stopping, and violently assaulting 2 men at the party. Our father, Alan Stever, 56 a life long Toms River resident wound up being brutally attacked by the male driver (aged 27) from scotch plains NJ. This resulted in him needing to be airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center, and he is looking at no less that 6 months of recovery time. He is a hard worker, and provider for his family, and will now be unable to work for an unknown amount of time due to severe injuries. Alans wife has been unable to return to work at this time while he is still in the icu. Our parents have lost all income resources and have mounting expenses resulting from the assault. Amongst the loss of work, the family will have to make adjustments to the home in order for him to be able to return home safely, and he will also likely be responsible for a portion of his medical bills This is a very difficult time for the entire family, and the stress of paying the bills is not something he nor his wife need to be stressed out about at such a traumatic time. The family appreciates any donations greatly, and we appreciate the community rallying behind our father praying for him. There is an active warrant out for the assailant and we will update any news about the case here. Thank you in advance.
