Alaska Lizzie Day

To our incredible Fairbanks community and local small businesses,

As many of you may have already heard, Lizzie Hartman, also known as “Alaska Lizzie,” recently experienced a heartbreaking loss. Two weeks ago, her husband tragically passed away. In response to this devastating event, several businesses have reached out asking how they can offer support. At this moment, the most impactful way we can assist Lizzie and her boys is through financial contributions.

To support Lizzie and her family, we are organizing a special event, similar to small business Saturday called “Alaska Lizzie Day” on July 27th. This date is significant as it follows what would have been Lizzie and her husband’s 10th wedding anniversary. On this day, we invite everyone to shop at the local small businesses that Lizzie cherishes. We are encouraging participating businesses to consider donating a percentage of their sales from that day to Lizzie’s family. If a percentage donation isn’t feasible, another option is to set up a donation bucket at your location.

We hope that this event will not only show Lizzie how much we care but also provide some financial relief during this challenging time. If you’re a small business that has felt the love from Lizzie and would like to participate in “Alaska Lizzie Day,” please let me know. We plan to create promotional materials for this event, including advertisements for Facebook and Instagram, which you can use to help spread the word.
