Alba goes to Berklee

Hola, me llamo Alba y tengo una buena noticia y una mala noticia. La buena, ¡QUE ME HAN ADMITIDO EN BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC (y con beca)!!!! La mala, que aun así no me lo puedo pagar. ¿Me ayudas? Si quieres saber mi historia sigue leyendo.

Contando con el apoyo familiar, calculo que necesito 34.470 pequeños mecenas que puedan aportar un dólar, o 3.447 que puedan aportar 10. Sé que suena difícil, pero yo creo que lo puedo conseguir. Lo voy a intentar hasta el final.

Tengo tantas ganas que hasta he compuesto y producido una canción de despedida por si acaso dejo mi casa en España para irme a estudiar a Boston.


Berklee me ha dado una beca de 14.000$ al año para los 4 años de estudios, pero aun así estoy lejos de los 73.472,48$ necesarios para pagar matrícula, libros, seguro médico y vivir en el campus durante el primer año:

Ahora te preguntarás: ¿y qué haces? ¿por qué te debería ayudar? Pues te cuento.

Llevo componiendo desde que tenía 7 años y produciendo desde hace 2. Empecé a tocar el oboe en la escuela de música municipal y después aprendí a tocar varios instrumentos por mi cuenta. Me pasé al uke, la guitarra y el teclado, porque entre otras cosas… no puedes cantar y tocar el oboe a la vez :0

Decidí que quería dedicarme profesionalmente a la música cuando me subí al escenario de El Náutico de San Vicente. Buscando dónde estudiar estaba un poco perdida, porque no me veía como intérprete de música clásica, hasta que encontré el grado en “Composición y Producción de Música Contemporánea” y lo tuve clarísimo: ¡parece que está hecho para mí!

Cuando recibí el mail de Berklee diciéndome que me habían admitido, no me lo podía creer. Llevo pensando en estudiar en esta universidad desde que tenía 14 años. Lo que parecía imposible, se ha hecho realidad. Ahora solo falta otro milagro: conseguir solucionar el tema económico.

Me estoy presentando a todas las convocatorias de becas que encuentro, pero tampoco puedo poner todas mis esperanzas en ellas. Tengo hasta el 1 de mayo para intentarlo… Como dice la canción: The clock is ticking!

Si puedes ser mi pequeño gran mecenas ¡GENIAL! Pero si no, sigue mi música en todas las plataformas y por favor difunde este crowdfunding.

Hello, my name is Alba and I have good and bad news. The good news is that I HAVE BEEN ADMITTED TO BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC (with a scholarship)!!!! The bad news is that I can't afford it. Can you help me? If you want to know my story, keep reading.

I am so excited to go to Berklee, that I have even written and produced a “goodbye” song, in case I leave my home in Spain to go study in Boston.

Berklee has given me a scholarship of $14,000 per year for the 4 years of study, but I'm still far from the $73,472.48 needed to pay for tuition, books, health insurance, and living on campus for the first year:

Now you may be asking yourself: what do you do? why should I help you? Well, let me tell you.

I've been writing songs since I was 7 years old and producing for 2 years. I started playing the oboe at the municipal music school and after, I learnt to play several instruments on my own. I switched to the ukulele, guitar and keyboard, because among other things... you can't sing and play the oboe at the same time :0

I decided I wanted to be a professional musician when I got on stage at El Náutico de San Vicente. Looking where to study I was a little lost, because I did not see myself as a classical music performer, until I found the degree in "Contemporary Writing And Production" it seems like it was made for me!

When I received the letter from Berklee telling me that I had been admitted, I couldn't believe it. I have been thinking about studying at this university since I was 14 years old. What seemed impossible has become a reality. Now I just need another miracle: to solve the economic issue.

I am applying for all the scholarships I can find, but I can't put all my hopes in them either. I have until May 1st to try... And as the song says: The clock is ticking!
