ALBB Hawaii Tour
The Ashfield Little Big Band (ALBB) is a community based Jazz ensemble delivering quality musical education to students from Sydney’s Inner West and Lower North Shore. Created in 2005 by Musical Director Jason Isaac, the band’s program comprises students between ages 11 and 18, who join by audition, and learn about the rich history of the Jazz genre by attending weekly rehearsals, regular workshops & masterclasses and performing in a range of venues in Australia.
This year, in October, the group has an opportunity to go on tour to Hawaii! The students are paying their own way, but they could really use some help to pay for the teaching staff that will accompany them, tour uniforms, and thank yous for their hosts.
This tour will give the students the chance to play with their peers in Hawaii, do workshops with musicians from the University of Hawaii and perform at a range of venues including the Hard Rock Cafe and Blue Note Hawaii. This will be an invaluable learning experience for these dedicated young musicians.
These kids work hard week in, week out - practicing and turning up to weekly rehearsals for their love of jazz. They would be incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide to help get them to Hawaii in October!
