Albert & Coby Need Your Help

Dear Friends and Family,

We are asking for your generosity to help care for our parents during these challenging times. As many of you know, our Dad Albert is facing the daily challenges of Parkinson’s disease, making him dependent on others for basic tasks. He needs help with everything from dressing, toileting, eating, and transferring in and out of his wheelchair. Our Mom, Coby has done an amazing job caring for him as his illness has progressed over the last three years. Unfortunately, she has recently had her own health scare. She has been noticeably weaker and has had less energy over the last several months. We thought it was exhaustion from the daily tasks of caring for our Dad. She was hospitalized recently and was found to have a very slow heart rate. With her recent pacemaker surgery, her heart rate has improved and she is starting the recovery process. She will need additional surgery to help repair her aortic valve soon. Our Mom is no longer able to care for our Dad on her own.

We are trying to raise funds to help care for our parents in their home and try to alleviate some of the financial burdens of the healthcare costs they will face. We found a team of caregivers to help attend to our parent's needs. We anticipate the monthly costs for caregiving alone will range from $3600 - $6000 for the level of care they will need. We anticipate additional costs for their recent hospitalizations and additional medical supplies.
