Legal Action Started - Prominent SA Lawyer Greg Griffin retained
The group has engaged prominent SA lawyer Greg Griffin to represent us with our challenge to the proposed development. We currently have an action in the Environment Resources and Development Court challenging the Port Adelaide Enfield Council's classification of the PAFC development application as a Category 2 rather than Category 3 development.
It is unfortunate that we have to go down this route but it is clear that both PAEN council and PAFC have no serious intentions of consulting with the community to effect a resolution.
It is expected that this will be heard before the court in May. If successful, this may mean that the consultation will have to go back to square one and that a more widespread notification is required rather than the 60m under the original application.
As with all legal challenges, the work will need to be funded. We are starting a Go Fund Me page and will let you know via an update, details of the fund when it is up and running.
