Albina Press Virtual Tip Jar: Hawthorne

Portland is bracing for the far reaching impact of COVID-19, many in the food and beverage industry have been layed off, furlowed, or outright terminated.  

As of March 19th, The Albina Press will be closed for service, leaving many of us with the meager incomes afforded from unemployment. We, as a staff, agree that removing common meeting places such as our cafes are vital to flattening the curve and returning to life as we know it. 

Those of us who work at the Albina Press have been honored to serve the communities surrounding our multiple locations. Many of you know, trust and confide in us on a regular basis. We are going to miss seeing your faces each and every day, but in order to get back to life as normal we have to take drastic distancing measures. 

So, we made a virtual tip jar. 

It's just that. If you have some cash, and have appreciated our work in the past, throw us a little. If you are hit just as hard as we are, you know we'd tell you to "Get us next time. . . "

We will be doing our best to close this after two weeks and start a new one in order to get the funds to the folks who would have been working. We appreciate your understanding in these trying times, and we hope to be back up and running as soon as this gets sorted!
