Album: Caviar For One

Songs are the ultimate in storytelling. Instruments and voice provide two pathways to shared experiences of love — found, lost, enjoyed, and needed. Those making the music together go through a process of baring their souls and having conversations that make that story better. "Caviar For One" is such an album.
It is a journey that draws the listener in starting with the opening short spoken-word piece "Love Is. Love Can." to the last song "Jonesin' For Ya". It came about when friends introduced Angela Durden to Alan Dynin one evening at the Jazz Jam at Venkman's. Alan said, "I hear you write original songs. I would like to hear them."
From house concerts with Steinway grands to ticketed shows to several well-known Jazz Jams around the city, Angela's vocals, words, and melodies paired with Alan's piano interpretations soon became favorites of audiences around Atlanta. Professional musicians as well as listeners in the audience were enjoying new tunes. Here's a few snippets for you. But there is more...read on.
BEING A CREATIVE IS A SORT OF MADNESS.
In 2010, MUSIC woke up in her head and has not shut up since. She's met so many talented creatives that have spurred her on to even better songs. Alan Dynin and Misha Stefanuk are two without whom this album would not have come to be.
After singing live for several years, and having people come up to her and pour out their hearts after hearing her original songs, and being asked "Where is your album?", Angela finally agreed she would do such a thing as make an album.
This album is loaded with original songs by Angela K. Durden and features Alan Dynin's piano interpretations and melodic awesomeness on all songs except where otherwise noted. [See list at end.]
AND THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP.
All songs have been recorded. Except for a couple of tweaks we are working on, we are preparing files and artwork and handling all the necessary paperwork to release "Caviar For One" in various formats including digital (Soundcloud ) and the physical CD format.
If you've heard Angela sing live. If you've heard Alan and Misha play. If you've ever said to Angela and Alan, "Where can I get your music?" Then now is the time to support our art and enjoy it wherever you go. Makes great gifts, too.
"Caviar For One" is almost done. She and Alan and Misha — all! — are most grateful and certainly do look forward to any level of support, whatever you are moved to do.
But, IF YOU DONATE the following, we do have a gift or two or three for you.
$15, you will receive the Digital Album.
$35, you will get the physical CD*.
$60, you will receive both the Digital Album and the CD*.
$100 or more, Digital Album, the CD, and an autographed copy of one of Angela's books*.
The album's songs are (in no particular order):
• Love Is. Love Can.
(Short spoken-word raison d'être introduction backed by softly-softly piano from Misha Stefanuk.)
• Holding Empty
(Inspired at the Joe Gransden Jazz Jam when it was at Twain's in Decatur on Tuesday evening. Composition by J Dekle and Angela. Alan Dynin performs piano on this piece.)
• The Happy Song
(Lyrics by Peter Polites , who recorded it first as a Folk song. But then Peter asked Angela and Alan Dynin to turn into a straight-up Jazz song. And they did with Angela's melody and vocal interpretation leading Alan to fabulously inspired chord progressions.)
• Wishes and Snow — Prelude (Piano instrumental by Alan Dynin)
• Chanced Upon a Man (Angela's vocals and on the piano. Alan Dynin adding bright piano and organ as a hauntingly invigorating overlay.)
• Ghosted — Prelude (Piano instrumental by Angela K. Durden)
• Ghosted (with vocals)
• First Time For Everything (An answer to Kenny Chesney's "Seven Days" from his 2010 "Hemingway's Whiskey" album. All instrumentation by Angela.)
• Can't Seem to Cry (Over You)
• Jonesin' For Ya (12-bar Bm Blues in 5/4. Features Misha Stefanuk's brilliant "piano conversation" with Angela's vocals.)
MORE LINKS ABOUT THE PEOPLE IN THIS PROJECT:
Misha Stefanuk — Misha has more songs than he can remember placed in television shows. He has written many popular books for piano players new, intermediate, and experienced. Misha built his own organ that is in his house. He teaches music and is a popular performer.
Alan Dynin — A former librarian who decided music was his first love, became a teacher of music. He has also performed with many bands and has this ability to get witty within the performance by bringing in bits and pieces of songs as fills. He also has a great ability to interpret standards and new songs.
Angela Durden is a creative that leaves a lot of people confounded. It is hard to explain Angela, so there will be no attempt here other than, visit these sites:
