Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing on behalf of Albuquerque School of Excellence, a college prep charter school, focusing on
science, technology, engineering, art and Math.
Albuquerque School of Excellence (ASE) , chartered by the state in 2009, began operating in 2010 with 208 students in grade 1-8. ASE has since expanded and now serves nearly 420 students from throughout the greater Albuquerque metro area in grades 1-12. Of all the charter schools in New Mexico, Albuquerque School of Excellence was one that received an “A” rating from the New Mexico Public Education Department in 2015-2016 school year. Since opening our doors, Albuquerque School of Excellence has worked diligently to provide a rigorous, high-quality education focusing on college preparedness, science, technology, engineering and math.
We believe that in order to solve the most pressing challenges facing our nation and our world, it is more important than ever for our youth to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. These are just the types of skills that our students learn every day in our STEM-focused curriculum.
We graciously ask for your support of our capital funds request. Receiving these funds would provide our school with the ability to enhance our education offerings to students. Specifically, we are in need of
the following:
1. Science & Robotics Equipment:
In order to continue to fulfill our mission to cultivate academic success in STEM, we need to purchase updated equipment for our science and robotics labs.
2. Playground Equipment/Outdoor Sports Court:
Our current playground equipment is
insufficient and inadequate for our g
rowing body of students. We would like to purchase more equipment, provide a basketball court and a soccer field, and install a shade-structure to give our students some reprieve from Mexico’s 310 days of yearly sunshine.
