Alderton Charity Football 2021

We're fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society.

Once again in an old Alderton Christmas tradition, the Married folk of Alderton will take to the field of play against our Single ‘friends’. We can't guarantee the quality of the football, in fact, we can - it won't be very good - but we can offer a fun match between members of our community old and new. Full of outrageous dives, occasional cheating and blatant referee influencing at the least it'll get you out of the house after Christmas .

So please come along and support your team! The match kicks off at 11am with everyone welcome afterward in the Gardeners Arms for post-match socialising, awards, fines, and refreshments.

Teas, coffee and cake are kindly provided by Alderton Acorns who will keep the proceeds.

Who can play?
Anyone over 16 who lives in or has local connections to Alderton is welcome to play. All genders and football skills are also welcome.

To play please email Rupert at rupert [at] davidbrucerecruitment [dot] com.

Our thanks to David Greaves and his family for their generosity.

Alderton's Charity Football

Alderton Charity Football Married v Singles match has raised over £25,000 in recent years for charities including Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Motor Neurone Disease Association and STEPS as well as charities closer to home including Friends of Oak Hill School, Alderton Acorns, Alderton's Playground, Winchcombe Day Care and Cheltenham Guardians.

All of our charities have some close connection to our community, either because they're local or because local people have been affected.

More information about Alzheimer's Society

So many people are affected by dementia, including many of our players and members of our community.
Dementia is a progressive disease that gets worse over time. There are many types of dementia but Alzheimer’s disease is the most common. Dementia is not a natural part of aging. It is caused when a disease damages nerve cells in the brain.

Alzheimer's Society commits itself to maintaining, improving and promoting its unique knowledge and understanding of dementia. It seeks to define and develop quality in its activities and services, to be inclusive of all communities but in particular people with dementia, their families and the professionals who work with them and to work in partnership with other organisations which share its aims.

no raffles, sweepstakes, giveaways, or returns on investment are offered in exchange for any donations made to your GoFundMe.
