In Loving Remembrance of Ale: Family Support

Dear friends and family and all supporters,

Our names are Stefania, Emma, and Kim and we are fundraising for our friend, Ale Gambini's family. It is with heavy heart that we share the heartbreaking news of our dear friend Ale Gambini's passing. Known to many as In "A Queen in the Kitchen ", Ale valiantly battled stage IV pancreatic cancer for a year. Despite enduring numerous challenging rounds of chemotherapy, a significant Whipple surgery, and placing her hopes on an experimental clinical trial, she faced unimaginable suffering before peacefully departing from us a month ago, on February 26th at th tender age of 52.

Ale's journey was a testament to her unwavering courage, strength, and indomitable spirit. She was a true warrior, bravely fighting in silence, never losing hope until her final day. Ale was a beacon of light in our lives, spreading love and joy wherever she went. Whether sharing her delicious signature tiramisu or lasagna or simply being there to lend an ear, Ale touched the hearts of all who knew her.

As friends and neighbors of Ale, we've treasured countless memories with her over the past decade. From the shared

experiences of raising our children together and participating in school activities to the relaxed moments of conversation

on our patios, as well as hanging out together during Thanksgiving and major holidays, our bond runs deep.

Just over a year ago, Ale and her family embarked on an exciting new chapter in Orange County, filled with anticipation for the opportunities that awaited them. Despite her illness, Ale's determination remained unwavering as she fulfilled her

dream of becoming an American citizen alongside her husband after 15 years in the USA, attending the oath ceremony just a week after her surgery. Her presence brought warmth and laughter into our lives, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void.

Unfortunately, we are all too familiar with the devastating impact of cancer, especially within the context of the American healthcare system. Despite the remarkable advances and cutting-edge treatments available, the toll of cancer extends far beyond the emotional realm, encompassing significant financial burdens as well. Despite being prepared with health insurance, the medical expenses far exceeded expectations, impacting savings meant for retirement and their daughter's education.

Ale's diagnosis came as a shock, emerging from seemingly nowhere—a mere dull back pain in an otherwise apparently

healthy individual who diligently underwent annual preventative care. Her sudden passing has left her family grappling with the unexpected loss of income, as her husband heroically balanced caregiving responsibilities alongside his work commitments. Despite the immense personal turmoil, he continued to teach his students with unwavering professionalism and positivity, all while his wife silently battled her illness. What's truly remarkable is that throughout this challenging journey, the family remained fiercely private, choosing not to burden others with their struggles. Their humility and strength in the face of adversity speak volumes about their character.

Ale's legacy will endure through the cherished memories we hold dear, the love we share, and the remarkable body of work she leaves behind. From her captivating videos to her insightful articles and cherished books, Ale's contributions will continue to inspire and uplift others for years to come. She was more than just a talented chef and writer; above all, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a genuine friend.

Losing my soulmate and best friend of 25 years has left an indescribable void in our lives. Witnessing our 14-year-old daughter navigate her mother's battle with cancer until her passing has been particularly challenging.
