Aleigha McLaren: Her Fight is our Fight.

Hello, Aleigha's Army is here to help the McLaren family. On April 6 at just 18 months, Aleigha McLaren was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, which is a form of cancer.

After reoccurring ear infections, a persistent rash, and a bump on her head that wouldn’t heal, doctors discovered a solid tumor above her right kidney.

On April 18, she started her 14-18 month long tough treatment plan. The plan consists of five rounds of chemo, surgery to remove the tumor, two rounds of stem cell transplants, radiation, and immunotherapy. As of July 25, she is getting ready for her fourth round of chemo at Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. The hope is that after her chemo treatments, her tumor can be removed. She will then have two rounds of stem cell transplants at M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital and then radiation at Mayo in Rochester

Despite the toll chemo has taken on Aleigha’s body, her spirit has not been broken. She has remained her usual sweet and sassy self. Her infectious smile will light up any room. The nurses love her feisty, strong-willed personality. She adores her big brother and tries to play with him when she can. All throughout, Aleigha has been a trooper! Her charismatic attitude has brought her a long way and will continue to serve her well on this journey.

Precious Aleigha lives in North Hudson with her parents, Kevin and Jenny, and her nine-year-old doting big brother, Tate.

This diagnosis and medical journey have taken the whole family by surprise, but they are determined to do everything they can to get Aleigha healthy and thriving for a long life. They are so grateful for everyone’s prayers, love, and support.
