Alene Rummel and family

Hi, my name is Holly Gutierrez and Alene Rummel is not just my best friend, but she is my family. If you know Alene then you know what an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend she is. Alene's hunger for life is inspiring and the love she has for her family and friends is like no other. She is the bravest, strongest and most selfless person I know.

A year ago Alene and her husband Eric and their 3 kids left California and moved to North Carolina. Falling in love with their new home and surroundings life came to a screeching halt. About 2 months ago Alene was diagnosed with breast cancer. Confident the cancer was caught early Alene still has a grueling battle ahead of her. Alene just started her 2nd of 4 rounds of extremely aggressive chemotherapy called doxorubicin ( also nicknamed the red devil). This will be followed up with 12 weeks of another type of chemotherapy. A month later Alene will have a double mastectomy and finish up with rounds of radiation.

Alene is in for the fight of her life as she begins this journey of kicking cancer's ass. Unfortunately, the burden of financial stress is weighing on the family. With medical insurance, there are still a lot of costs that are not covered. Alene is unable to work and Eric most likely taking time off when needed ( doctors appointments, kids, etc) the family's income will decrease significantly. This is where I humbly ask for your support. I've created this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds that will directly contribute to Alene's medical expenses, transportation, house bills and childcare needs.

The Rummel's life has and will change dramatically while they support Alene and her battle against breast cancer. Let's give what we can to help relieve some of the financial stress that will be upon them. Let's keep this amazing family in our thoughts and prayers and help them feel that they are not alone and that we are all beside them and fighting with them.
