Crowdfunding a new body

My name is Alessa, and I'm transgender. I am currently on one of the notoriously long waiting lists for an initial appointment at an NHS clinic. The expected time for my first appointment has been missed, and I currently don't know how long I can expect to be waiting (especially as covid-19 is understandably affecting waiting times). Like many trans folk, I have zero professional support in the meantime, and I have already been waiting for years to be able to take these first steps into expressing myself authentically. For me, the clock has already run out.

Fortunately, I have been able to get help from a private clinic in the meantime. This has been a huge relief, and the care I have received has profoundly eased my dysphoria. However, the cost of this adds up, especially as my prescription is increased to meet my specific needs. 

As well as maintaining a consistent supply of HRT, my goal is to get laser hair removal sometime in the next 12 months. Again, that is something the NHS would normally provide, but the wait for that has become interminable.
