Alex and Rachel Gutierrez Family Campaign
Friends and Family of the Gutierrez Family,
In March of this year Rachel was admitted into a clinical trial at Mayo for multiple sclerosis. A day later Alex suffered a seizure and was diagnosed with a brain tumor thought to be a meningioma with some additional unknown masses. After six weeks of back-and-forth to Mayo Clinic, doctors discovered the additional masses had grown. In May, he underwent surgery to biopsy one of the masses. In addition to the meningioma, Alex has also been diagnosed with an inoperable glioma, which is a very aggressive brain cancer. In June, he will start chemotherapy and radiation. For six weeks, he will need to receive treatment daily at Mayo Clinic in Rochester (nearly two hours away from their home). Medical deductibles and copays, fuel to drive back and forth to Mayo, and housing in Rochester for long-term treatment is quickly adding up.
Rachel and Alex are both amazing people, loyal friends, and parents to two wonderful boys (7 and 10 years old). They will need our prayers and continued support in the coming months as they fight this battle to prolong Alex's life. The road is going to be long and challenging. The Gutierrez family needs our help to ensure they are able to focus on treatment and care for Alex at this time.
Thank you for your continued love and support of the Gutierrez family.
