Alex and Wendi Sawatsky Garage Roof Repair

Hi, my name is Jason Peters, and I'm raising funds to help repair Alex and Wendi's garage roof.

As many of you know, Alex was shingling his garage last weekend when he fell and fractured his L1 vertebrae, tailbone, and elbow. He is currently at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg awaiting surgery for his elbow, and doctors say he is facing a long, painful recovery for his back.

Alex has given so much to our community--not only as a teacher of Social Work at Booth University College but as an advocate for mental health and a volunteer on the board of several community organizations. That's why we want to do whatever we can to support his family during this difficult time.

I have an estimate to repair the roof, and I hope to raise $6,500 to cover the costs.

That includes $3,838 to repair the rotted roof decking and replace the shingles and another $2,196 to replace the rotted fascia and eavestroughs. I have also included $500 in contingency costs if there are unexpected repairs.
