Hi, my name is Alexander Berg and I am a Life Scout in Troop 310 in Orangevale, CA. I have been in Scouting for 12 years and nearing the end of my trail by working on achieving the last and highest rank, Eagle Scout.
One of the main requirements for Eagle Scout is that I plan and complete a project that has a positive effect for the community. My Eagle project will be taking out old dilapidated and unrepairable above ground planter boxes and replacing them with brand new ones at the Phoenix Community Garden located at the Phoenix Field Park in Fair Oaks, CA. I am going to coordinate the removal of 8 old boxes of various sizes and replacing them with new redwood boxes in two of the gardening plots. This will be beneficial to the garden because they will have new boxes that they will be able to use to make crops that they then share with the surrounding community and local food bank.
I will be coordinating, directing and supervising other Scouts and parents from my Troop who are helping me with the construction of this project. The funds that I am trying to raise will go towards the cost of the of the required materials such as the lumber and fasteners. Fundraising is part of this project and I am asking for your help with achieving my goal of $2000.00 by the end of December 2020. When I meet the funding goal and complete the project I can obtain the rank of Eagle Scout.
My future plan is to use the life skills and leadership that I have learned in Scouting to pursue a career in the Fire Service.
