Alex Cable and Family

Alex Cable is one of ours!❤️
He‘s part of our amazing football family, Elburton Youth U13’s. But unfortunately on 29th July, whilst on a family break to visit family in America, his family were involved in a horrific car accident leaving Barrett, (dad) with a fractured sternum, and two broken ribs, Caroline, (mum) with broken elbow, dislocated ankle, and lacerations on her face and head, and his younger siblings, Levi and Tabi, suffered bruises and cuts
However, Alex‘s injuries were far more serious. He was left with internal organ damage, a perforated transverse colon, and sepsis which meant him being transferred from the initial hospital by helicopter for emergency specialist treatment in the ICU at Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan where, although now thankfully out of ICU, and making progress daily, he remains
Alex is a true fighter and amazed everyone when he immediately took control and beat the fevers and fought through the pain and is now managing to sit, stand, and even begin to eat some liquid foods. To most of us, we take these things for granted but for Alex, these are all enormous milestones in his journey to recovery He was a very poorly boy
This last week has undersandably been a most painful, stressful and uncertain week for the Cable family, away from home, separated now across two hospitals to recover , and dealing with practical And financial implications of this ordeal but ultimately thankful for everything they currently have and see progressing
Our football family , have been rooting for Alex and family throughout, sharing thoughts, prayers and love via the internet
We would like , now, to also do something practical to help with the continued care and rehabilitation that will be required to bring Alex back to us all in the UK and as a happy fit and healthy superstar that we all know
please help us to show our love and support to them by donating what you can to make life a little easier and more comfotable at this very difficult time
ALEX YOU HAVE AMAZED US ALL WITH YOUR STRENGTH, DETERMINATION AND RESILIENCE TO COME BACK FIGHTING
WE LOOK FORWARD EACH DAY TO UPDATES OF YOUR CONTINUED PROGRESS - Come on Alex you got this!!!!
The cables are both self employed so have had no money coming in through this time. Once discharged both will continue to be out of work to help Alex in day to day life. Barrett has also spent a lot of money on hotel rooms & food throughout Alex stay in hospital .. the family will require ongoing support emotionally & physically when they return to the UK. We Hope they will also be able to utilise some of the money to enjoy something as a family after this horrendous ordeal.
